Title: Nga kawenata

In Social we looked into two different declarations one was human rights and the other one was the treaty, a couple of things to explain human rights is that there are 30 articles and new zealand is apart of the human rights declaration, my understanding also to the treaty of waitangi is that the pakeha wrote a treaty for our tupuna and they signed on the 6th of february 1840.

We also looked into some similarities and differences between the both declaration one similarity was they both talk about human rights and a difference is the different amount of articles are in both declarations.

We also looked into the impact of the declarations for the people and for Aotearoa.

My overall opinion on these declarations is that there are so many ways that the human rights and the treaty of waitangi have so many similarities and so many differences at the same time.

Title: Hikoi - The Land March

In social studies we looked into the NZ land march that whina cooper led in 1975.

I learned that she walked from Cape Reinga all the way down to Wellington, and she did it for the land, the saying that she used was not one more acre of Maori land to be sold. Everyone that participated in the land march had to sacrifice losing their jobs to walk and as they walked more and more people joined their march.

They had two taonga and they were the memorial of rights and the pouwhenua

They had one song that they sang and it was all about the roopu matakite.

My overall thought about the land march is that it was a hard thing to do and if they didnt do the march all of our land could have been stolen from other people.

Title - Human Rights Images

In SST our kaupapa was about human rights, we had to choose 5 images and research the story behind them and tell how they relate to the human, the images that I chose where black lives matter, the treaty of waitangi, World War 2, World War 1 and stopping the vaccine mandates, i chose these five images because they all had an understanding of the human rights.

The first one was  Black lives matter was all about what was/is happening to people because of their skin tone, it began in July 2013. The second slide is about the treaty that was made for peace between Maori and british. The Third slide is about World War 2 and it was about how millions of people sacrificed their lives to save their people and their country. The fourth slide is similar but it was World War 1. Our people died for our rights of being maori. The Last one Slide 5 Is stopping the vaccine mandates it was/is a protest about the vaccine that was aimed at The Prime Minister - Jacina Adern.

Title - Nga kupu matua

In SST we did an assessment about nga kupu matua, there were three kupu matua that we had to talk about and they where kotahitanga, whakawhanaungatanga and whakapapa, we had to explain what our understanding of each word was, so for my understanding i gave examples on what each word ment, then the second part of the kupu matua was to give and example on how the kupu relates to one kaupapa from this term, then the second last thing was to give an example on how the kupu relates to an outside kaupapa, the last thing is to make a word art that is about each kaupapa.

This kaupapa was really easy to work on and learn about the kaupapa and how it relates to each kaupapa and outside kaupapa as well

Title - Leadership speech

In SST we are doing speeches that tells others what we think a leader is or how we see a leader, for an example of someone in this school that is a great leader is Jacque, Jacque has all the things that a leader has, because she is a good role model, respectful humble and more.

Being a leader is not just about being a good role model and being respectful its having good communication skills, confident in everything, good grades, and attending school, If i were to talk about how i show leadership, to me i could be a great leader because i'm not just about myself i enjoy helping others communicating interacting and showing up to school, so in my opinion i would be a really great leader.

Title: NZ Leader

In SST we researched a NZ leader. I chose Whina Cooper to research because I just admire her for all that she did for her up and coming generation.

We had to research about the person that we chose, and i found out that Whina isn't her real name, her real name is Hohepin (Josephine) Te Wake, her dad was also a leader, Whina cooper led the maori land march from the top of nz all the way down to wellington.

Whina founded and became first president of a Panguru branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union.

I would love to be as powerful as Whina Cooper was, because she showed for me that age is just a number.

Tittle: Career

In Social Studies we started of with choosing three career options and there where questions that we had to research and answer about each of the careers on the first google doc which were the options there was a link that took us to the careers NZ page, and all you had to do was search your career and take any of the answers that you needed for each of your three careers.

The second google doc was the career choice and you had to choose your top career and there were more questions that came with it also, the questions were like What are you going to do in preparation to pursue this job, Why is this job your top choice, Who will support you in gaining this job, When will all this take place, Where will you go to study or qualify for this job and How are you going to make it happen all of these questions were quit easy to answer because i already knew about most of the things about my dream job because of the previous doc that i had completed.

Tittle: Interview prep

On this google doc we had to answer the bullet points like we were actually doing a interview, on the google docs we had to talk about who we are, interests and hobbies work experiences, this interview preparation felt kind of real, because it felt like i was applying for an actual job, these interview preps where really fun to fill out because as i said before it felt legit and real and i really enjoyed it.
